ABOUT MEDRUS Cymru

Built in Wales. Built from practice.

MEDRUS Cymru turns policy, governance and national frameworks into training that works in real healthcare settings.

We understand what good governance looks like on paper. We also know what it takes to make it work when the phones are ringing, the waiting room is full and ten other things need attention.

That is what makes MEDRUS Cymru different.

Wales is not an afterthought

Our training starts with the Welsh healthcare system, Welsh legislation, Welsh policy and the way primary care operates here.

We do not start with an English course and change a few references. Differences between nations are built into the learning from the beginning.

Training can also be provided bilingually, helping organisations deliver learning appropriately across Wales.

From framework to frontline

What does this actually look like in practice?

A regulation may specify what must happen. A framework may describe what good looks like. MEDRUS Cymru focuses on the part in between: how a manager, receptionist, clinician or healthcare team makes it happen.

That is the gap our training is designed to close.

Work with MEDRUS Cymru

Looking for practical, credible training developed specifically for healthcare in Wales? Let’s talk.

Whether you need access to an existing course or want to explore learning for a practice, cluster, wider workforce or Health Board, we would be happy to hear from you.

We understand both sides

Practice Management

Around 20 years in GP practice management, working with some of the most deprived communities in Wales as well as more affluent populations. Experience of the day-to-day running of practices, including staffing, access, compliance, IT, patient experience and research.

National policy and frameworks

National work with the Royal College of General Practitioners. Experience developing national resources for practice managers in Wales.

Policies and professional learning

Writing policies and protocols for primary care in Wales for FPM/Stericycle. Authoring training on preparing for HIW inspection, maximising practice income and reducing financial loss. Delivering training for PMA and DispEx.

Both sides of the framework

We understand how guidance and standards are developed and what they aim to achieve. We also understand what it takes to put them into practice. MEDRUS Cymru exists to bridge that gap.

Training designed for the real world

Information matters. Knowing what to do with it matters too.

Our courses use realistic scenarios, decisions, conversations and consequences, rather than long sections of policy reproduced on a screen. We break complicated subjects into manageable steps and explore the judgement needed to put guidance into practice.

Where something works differently in Wales, we teach it that way from the outset. Courses are divided into manageable sections for desktop, tablet and mobile, so staff can make progress without setting aside a whole day.

For organisations commissioning training

Access and reporting

Organisational licences for practices, clusters and NHS Wales Health Boards provide consistent learning across multiple teams without each staff member having to buy a course separately. Where appropriate, we can support organisation-wide or cohort access, completion reporting and certificates of completion.

Practical implementation

Practical toolkits and implementation resources, with training adapted where appropriate to reflect local pathways and organisational arrangements.

Learning around your priorities

Development of new learning around Welsh policy, governance and operational priorities for practices, clusters and wider healthcare organisations.
